Q: I want highly specific feature X from Y, how do I get this implemented?

As ROR's goal is to be vendor-agnostic, for this to be implemented the feature has to be implemented in a generic way. If that's not possible ROR might not be the product for your problem.

Q: I want X to be implemented, how do I go forward?

First you create a "Feature Request" (found in the issue tracker under the "Feature Request" template) and provide a clear description of the problem and the feature you would like to see implemented.
